The title of the Twenty~O~Five "All Hallow's Eve New Orleans" Print by New Orleans Artist MOUSIE is "Left Behind" and when we evacuated the area before Katrina, the original painting for this image literally was left behind. Thinking I would be back in a couple of days, I left it in the bedroom on an easel which was knocked over by the flood. I have repainted the piece, and am now issuing it in retro.
When I was designing this in the summer of 2005, I kept wondering why I was putting a unicorn into it, and what that had to do with All Hallow's Eve in New Orleans. As soon as I heard the news that the levees had been breached, I thought about Shel Silverstein's Unicorn Song, with the final line, "The waters came down and sort of floated them away, and that's why you never see unicorns to this very day."
You, however, finally get to see this unicorn! 18 x 24" Signed and Numbered Giclée Print~ $50
